MAGGIE
I remember Aunt Maggie as a very friendly homely person. My father always referred to her as 'Our Meggie'. She had a short in stature, robust figure, fair haired with a ready cheery smile. Probably liked to keep up with the times as she was the first person I knew to have a home telephone. For the Queen's Coronation (1952) there was a grand assembly at her house as she was one of the few to have a television set in those days. I remember there was a large magnifying glass in front to enlarge the picture.
Typical of the Cummins family, especially from Pelaw Main, a small community on the banks of the River Tyne, she spoke in short bursts of sentences with a firm voice. (Terry)
